Jane is a senior forensic document examiner with over 25 years of experience. She received her forensic training at the Wisconsin State Crime Laboratory in Milwaukee, as well as with the United States Secret Service, Forensic Services Division and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the latter two located in Washington, D.C. She holds a BS from Marquette University and a MFS in forensic science from George Washington University. Jane is certified by the American Board of Forensic Document Examiners (ABFDE), having completed testing in 1996. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences (AAFS) - Questioned Documents Section, as well as a member of the American Society of Questioned Document Examiners (ASQDE) and the Midwestern Association of Forensic Scientists (MAFS). Jane participates in continuing education seminars and workshops through the ASQDE, MAFS and AAFS. She has made presentations to her peers at a number of forensic conferences and has been a guest lecturer at Marquette University since 1999. She has conducted research and published papers on a variety of forensic subjects such as Thin Layer Chromatography of writing inks, striation patterns in ballpoint pens and enhancement of latent writing impressions.
